September 19 marks the eleventh annual North Texas Giving Day, the largest community-wide giving event in the nation. Nearly $250 million dollars have been raised through Giving Day, strengthening nonprofits to build safer, more vibrant neighborhoods in the North Texas community. Genesis Women’s Shelter relies on Giving Day to raise critical funds for women and children who have experienced domestic violence. Genesis was created to give women in abusive situations a way out, and for more than 30 years, has been her first step in finding safety, shelter and support. Today, we ask you to join us in our mission!

SET UP A FUNDRAISING PAGE

To help nonprofits raise even more money and easily utilize networks, FUNdraising pages are one of the newer Giving Day features. You help us by creating a FUNdraising page to leverage your network to raise money for Genesis!

How it works:

  1. Create a page
    Visit the Genesis Giving Day page, scroll down and click on the blue + button that says “Create a Fundraiser!”
  2. Create a page, or log in
    Click the green button “Create Profile” and fill out the appropriate information. If you already have a donor account from a previous North Texas Giving Day, skip the “Create Profile” step and simply log in.
  3. Fill out your page
    Fill out your FUNdraiser details! Select Genesis as the organization, type in your page title, and create a unique URL link.
  4. Submit
    Once you are satisfied with your FUNdraiser details, click the box at the bottom of the page, “Save & Publish FUNdraiser.” If you would like to link to the Genesis Giving Day video, copy the following URL and paste it into the “FUNdraiser Video (URL)” field: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-6RdiQtVC4
  5. Share!
    Share your page with your network! Scheduled giving has already started, so go ahead and share your custom URL with your networks. Write emails, create social media posts… get creative! Just make sure to submit your FUNdraising page before the deadline of Wednesday, September 18.
