Why does Genesis request gift cards?
Gift cards give our clients the power to choose how to use your gift, providing options during a time when all choices have typically been stripped away. Mom knows her children best, so a gift card allows her to shop for more personalized presents for her kiddos.
Why do items need to be new?
At Genesis, one of our main areas of focus is restoring our clients’ dignity and self-esteem. Because her confidence and sense of worth have often been broken down, we want to remind her that she is valuable and worthy of new, unused items.
Why do items need to be unwrapped?
A special part of mom’s holiday tradition often includes wrapping her own children’s presents. Because she is unable to shop for the presents herself this year, it’s important to allow mom the autonomy of seeing the presents before giving them to her children. We give her the kiddo’s presents as well as gift bag supplies so she can have the independence of wrapping them herself.
Can we meet the family we’ve adopted?
At Genesis, everything we do focuses on our clients’ safety and confidentiality. We want to respect our clients’ privacy, so we appreciate your understanding of our efforts to keep our clients feeling safe and secure!
How much should we spend per person?
Although pricing and requested items may vary, you can expect to spend approximately $100 per person.
