DROP OFF INFORMATION
The Holiday drop-off Address, Hours and Instructions are as follows:
2023 Lucas Drive
The entrance to our new building is located near the intersection of Harry Hines Boulevard and Lucas Street, diagonal to the Original Market Diner.
Our staff will be ready and able to accept your Holiday donations during the following dates and hours: Wednesday, 12/7 through Saturday, 12/17. We will NOT be open on Sunday, 12/11. Our hours of operation are 10:00 AM through 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday. On Saturday, 12/10, we will be receiving drop-offs from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and on Saturday, 12/17, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Failure to come during this window may result in your family not receiving their gifts in time, so if you foresee any issues whatsoever, please e-mail your Holiday contact as soon as possible.
When you arrive, please park and enter our building’s main entrance through the double glass doors. There, you will be greeted by a member of our staff who will check you in and can assist you in unloading your donations. Because we have over 500 donors committed to providing gifts and assistance to our clients this year, and as we are actively working to finalize construction, we will not be able to offer Santa’s Workshop photo opportunities this year. We kindly ask that donors help us in making this year’s drop-off process as efficient as possible.
WHY DOES GENESIS REQUEST GIFT CARDS?
This year, we are asking our donors who adopt families to provide both physical gifts as well as gift cards for our clients. Gift cards give our clients the power to choose how to use your gift, providing options during a time when all choices have typically been stripped away. Mom knows her children best, so a gift card allows her to shop for more personalized presents for her kiddos. We know that domestic violence centers around dynamics of power and control, and we pride ourselves on providing our clients with as many opportunities as possible for them to make their own choices.
CAN WE MEET THE FAMILY WE’VE ADOPTED?
At Genesis, everything we do focuses on our clients’ safety and confidentiality. We want to respect our clients’ privacy, so we appreciate your understanding of our efforts to keep our clients feeling safe and secure!
CAN I ADOPT MORE FAMILIES OR ANGELS THAN I ORIGINALLY REQUESTED?
Absolutely! If you would like to adopt additional angels or families, please contact the Genesis staff member who sent you your original family or angel.
HOW MUCH SHOULD WE SPEND PER PERSON?
Aside from the gift cards you will be providing, we recommend spending approximately $200 per woman and $50-$75 per child for their gifts.
SHOULD I WRAP THE GIFTS?
Please do not wrap the gifts prior to dropping them off. Our team of staff and volunteers will wrap the presents after receiving them and will distribute them to their respective clients.
WHAT IF I CANNOT FIND THE EXACT ITEM REQUESTED ON THE WISHLIST?
If you are unable to find the exact gift requested, please purchase something at a comparable price point and quality.
