National #ThriftShopDay is this Friday, August 17, and what better way to celebrate than by stopping by our Benefit Thrift Store! We have furniture, books, men’s and women’s clothes, shoes, purses, accessories and more.

For more than 25 years, the Genesis Benefit Thrift Store has been making incredible contributions to the Dallas community. More than 400 local bargain hunters visit the store every day, taking home about 1,000 great finds with them! Additionally, community members donated almost 1.5 million items last year, helping us raise critical funds to provide life-changing services to women and children who have experienced domestic violence. Because Genesis doesn’t receive any government funding, these proceeds enable us to continue providing our services completely free of charge.

The word thrift comes from the Old Norse word þrift, which means prosperity. This is fitting – our Benefit Thrift Stores helps restore peace and prosperity to the women and children experiencing domestic violence who receive services from Genesis.
