CAN I ADOPT MORE THAN ONE FAMILY OR MULTIPLE ANGELS? 

Yes! You may adopt as many families or angels as you’d like. If you would like to adopt additional families or angels, please contact the Holiday team member who confirmed your first family. 

 

WHAT IF I CANNOT DROP OFF MY GIFTS BY DECEMBER 18TH? 

We kindly ask all donors to drop off their gifts as soon as possible between December 4-18th. The sooner the better as this allows us to fairly accommodate over 400 families this busy holiday season! If you are absolutely unable to meet this deadline, please contact our Holiday team as soon as possible at holiday@genesisshelter.org. 

 

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I SPONSOR AN ANGEL? 

When you purchase gifts for an Angel, we gladly add these items to our inventory of high-demand toys and items to distribute to our children both at our residential and non-residential locations during the holidays and throughout the year. Our children feel the joy year-round as we are able to surprise them with their favorite toys not only during the holidays, but for their birthdays as well! 

 

WHAT GIFT CARD INCREMENTS DO YOU TAKE? 

We prefer increments of $25. If you feel moved to donate more than $25, please break the amount into multiple cards of $25 or less so we can ensure all clients receive equal gifts this season. 

 

I WORK FOR A COMPANY THAT WANTS TO PARTICIPATE IN GENESIS HOLIDAY! WHAT CAN WE DO? 

Thank you for wanting to get your organization involved in Genesis Holiday! Great giving options for large groups include organizing a company-wide donation drive for our Angels or for gift cards. If you’d like to volunteer as a group, please contact our Volunteer Manager at 214.389.7711. 

 

CAN WE MEET THE FAMILY WE’VE ADOPTED? 

At Genesis, everything we do focuses on our clients’ safety and confidentiality. We want to respect our clients’ privacy, so we appreciate your understanding of our efforts to keep our clients feeling safe and secure! 

  

HOW MUCH SHOULD WE SPEND PER FAMILY? 

We recommend spending approximately $200 per woman and $50-75 per child, not including their requested gift cards. For each family's gift cards, we would greatly appreciate $100 for the Family Gift Card, $50 for the mom's requested gift card and a $25 gift card per child. 

  

SHOULD I WRAP OR LABEL MY GIFTS? 

Please do not wrap the gifts prior to dropping them off. Our team of staff and volunteers will wrap the presents after receiving them and will distribute them to their respective clients. If you are shopping for a family, we kindly ask that you make sure your gifts are labeled with the family code you received from your Genesis Holiday contact!  

  

WHAT IF I CANNOT FIND THE EXACT ITEM REQUESTED ON THE WISHLIST? 

If you are unable to find the exact gift requested, please purchase something at a comparable price point and quality.
