WOMEN AND CHILDREN'S THERAPIST, LPC SUPERVISOR

Hours: Full time or Part time position available. Full time hours will be three days 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and two days 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Responsibilities

The Women and Children’s Therapist at Genesis Women’s Outreach will provide individual and group therapy to women and children who have been or are living in homes with domestic violence.  This position is responsible for assessment and evaluation to aid and determine treatment goals, as well as providing crisis intervention and long-term counseling in remediation of family violence.  The Women and Children’s Therapist will work as a member of a treatment team in advocating for clients affected by domestic violence.  This position also includes providing parent education regarding services, parenting, and domestic violence education.  Experience with Play Therapy is preferred.

Position Requirements

  • A Master’s Degree in Counseling or Psychology
  • Candidate should have Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor (LPC-S)
  • Have high energy levels, self-motivated, results oriented, and have excellent people and communication skill
  • Spanish speaking abilities is a plus, but not required

This position will also supervise approximately 2-3 clinicians with LPC-I license in a group and individual setting.  As a leader and supervisor, this position will often be “teaching” clinical skills, watching videos of sessions and advising regarding critical issues.  With this population this candidate must have experience in managing crises and maintaining a therapeutic response during these instances.
