Leading the Latino community to stand up against domestic violence.

Madrinas

madrinas

Madrinas de Genesis utilize the strengths of the Latino community to build a network of support to further the message of Genesis Women’s Shelter. Madrinas provide information to make our services available to women and children in the Latino community who have experienced domestic abuse.

Madrinas are neighborhood leaders that provide education about domestic violence including safety planning, healthy coping skills, myths and realities of the legal system in the US, and practical ways to support a woman who has experienced domestic violence. Madrinas serve to build a network of Latino leaders to increase the outreach to the community.

The Latino community will not tolerate abuse of any kind and we are committed to making a difference.
