Conference on Crimes Against Women (CCAW)
The Conference on Crimes Against Women was established in 2006 to be
the national clearinghouse for training on best practices regarding the
investigation and prosecution of violent crimes against women. It is
presented annually by Genesis Women's Shelter and the Dallas Police
Department in association with the Federal Bureau of Investigation's
Behavioral Analysis Unit. Here, national experts present the most
relevant training and cutting edge techniques in addressing these
crimes. This is the only national conference that addresses the
entire range of crimes committed against women.
Conference participants are the “first-line responders” to violence
against women including FBI agents, state and local law enforcement
officers, state and federal prosecutors, representatives of the U.S.
Department of Justice, forensic nurses, domestic violence shelter
employees and victim advocates from across the U.S. and Canada.
The 5th Annual Conference on Crimes Against Women will be held
March 28-30, 2011 at the Sheraton, Downtown Dallas. For information about
sponsorship, providing scholarships for local officers, or
