Back to Top Special Events
We are always in the middle of our next BIG event around here, and
would love to have you join us! Volunteer help toward these efforts is
always at a premium- if you know of a particular event you would like
to help with, or if you would like to be kept informed of volunteer
needs relating to all special events as they come up, please contact Leona Barnes, Volunteer Coordinator.
Back to Top Volunteer Orientations
The goal of orientation is to teach potential volunteers about the
agency's structure, the programs and services offered, and to help them
determine what volunteer opportunity best fits their schedule and
interests. Once you have turned in your completed volunteer
application, Leona Barnes, Volunteer Coordinator will contact you about upcoming orientation dates.
Back to Top Volunteer Training
Volunteer training is available to any potential volunteer who has
completed an application and attended Orientation. Each month, Genesis
holds a one-hour special training session for new Children's Department
volunteers. Hotline training is held quarterly and lasts for seven
hours (three-and-a-half hours each night for two nights). Leona Barnes,
Volunteer Coordinator, will schedule training sessions with approved
volunteers.
