Join A Genesis Women's Shelter Auxiliary Group! Each auxiliary offers support to our cause through annual dues, donations, volunteering and special events, and operates under the leadership of a Board of Directors.
Genesis Alliance
Founded in 1997, the Genesis Alliance is composed of over 400 women who support the mission of Genesis Women's Shelter to alleviate family violence, through volunteerism, education and community awareness. The Genesis Alliance helps in many ways. The Alliance puts on the Genesis Mother's Day Luncheon that has been an annual event for the past 10 years and is our largest fundraiser.
Genesis Shareholders
This group of young professionals was founded in 2001 and is made up of over 150 men and women who are dedicated to supporting the mission of Genesis Women's Shelter, increasing domestic violence awareness, and supporting the children that reside in our residential facilities. The Shareholders hold quarterly "meetings" that have included such events as a Texas Independence Day party, a holiday party, an evening at the driving range, and more.
Genesis S*T*A*R - (Students Tackle Abusive Relationships)
STAR was founded in 1998 for teens from local high schools to come together to support Genesis Women's Shelter. STAR members show their support through advocating about Teen Dating Violence in their schools and doing volunteer activities such as holiday parties for the children at the shelter. This year STAR will hold a donation drive, coordinate a spring field day at the shelter, sponsor a breakfast with Santa, and more.
